Shepparton rider Warren Pickering took out the 2011 Scotty's Race held today (2nd July) at Kialla from Kevin Murphy and Geoff Cobbledick. 6 Shepparton riders filled out the top 10 placings in a strong showing by a rejuvenated Shepp Cycling Club. Strong cross winds, narrow bumpy roads and strong field ensured tough racing but it was a breakaway with some 8 kms to race that delivered the knockout punch for Pickering.
Fastest time was taken out by VIS Rider Eric Sheppherd from Carnegie Caulfied Cycling Club, Peta Mullens took out first female. These riders along with the top 10 placegetters shared in $5000 in prizemoney on a great day of racing in Shepparton. Photos to follow as soon as we can.
